They complained saying that Muhammad was saying bad things about our idols. He would tell us that the religion we follow is wrong.
The group of people told Abu Talib to make him stop. They said if you don’t stop him then we will and you will not be able to do anything.
Abu Talib said kind things to them and made them go away.

Abu Talib told him to not do anything which would hurt him.
Our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) said, “If the people put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left and tell me to stop what I am doing, then I will still not stop what I am doing.”
Our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) wanted to try his best to make the people become good. He said that he would never stop even if the people gave him everything in the world.
