Baḥr-ul-Midād Publications is an independent publishing house which was established in 2017.

The inspiration of the name Baḥr-ul-Midād Publications is taken from verse 109 in Surah al-Kahf of the Holy Qur’an:

قُل لَّوۡ كَانَ ٱلۡبَحۡرُ مِدَادٗا لِّكَلِمَٰتِ رَبِّي لَنَفِدَ ٱلۡبَحۡرُ قَبۡلَ أَن تَنفَدَ كَلِمَٰتُ رَبِّي وَلَوۡ جِئۡنَا بِمِثۡلِهِۦ مَدَدٗا

“Say, O Prophet, to one and all: If the sea were as ink for the words of my Lord, most surely, the sea would be depleted before the words of my Lord were depleted even if We were to bring the like of it in replenishment.”

This verse expresses the concept of knowledge being an ocean with no shore, and that no one can claim to have accomplished the quest for knowledge. The phrase ‘Baḥr-ul-Midād‘ would in English literally mean, ‘Ocean of Ink’.

We aim to do this through providing authentic Islāmic literature which we hope will offer an insight and also furnish the reader with a broad understanding of the sharīʿah. The work is rendered in a manner which is simple but captivating and professional. We aim to tackle common misunderstandings and contentious issues with an honest approach. We aspire to mould and shape in the individuals mind spiritual values. Baḥr-ul-Midād Publications is committed and dedicated to ensuring the highest academic standards for its publications, paying special attention to many details, among which the most important are accuracy and reliability of information. It is committed to serving Muslim communities worldwide by publishing innovative, relevant and authentic books.

May He shower his mercy on all the eminent imams for their efforts in preserving the religion so we may learn it today.
